Shakespeare Workshop
Many students find it hard to engage with classical play texts; for some it can seem like a foreign language. Our Shakespeare Workshop allows students to approach the text from a performance point of view. After all, Shakespeare’s works were intended for the stage not to be read at a desk! Focusing on the examination text of your choice, we can tailor a workshop to meet the needs and level of your students. Our Shakespeare Workshop is above all designed to be fun and engaging. We explore themes and passages in an interactive performance based context, which leaves students with a positive experience of tackling Shakespeare’s work: an experience which may blossom into a lifelong passion.
Acting For Camera Workshop
Drawing on our experience working in television and film, Claire and James take students through an introduction to the specific skills required for acting on screen. Supported by an expert camera operator, student’s work is captured on film and the workshop finale is a review and critique of what the students have created.
Musical Theatre Workshop
Students will have the opportunity to explore the key elements of Musical Theatre, focusing on their acting, singing and dancing skills. We will prepare a ‘musical in a day’, where pupils (if desired) can showcase their production to a small audience.
Introduction To Drama Workshop
This workshop is aimed at schools which have little or no drama provision and maybe lack the expertise or confidence within their staff to provide an initial experience of performance
Confidence Building and Public Speaking Workshop
Most people will face the challenge of speaking in public at some point in their lives. There are few jobs where being able to communicate one’s thoughts verbally is not an essential part of the role, whether that is to three people or three hundred, the principles and techniques for delivering an effective message are the same. In this workshop, pupils will learn the key techniques in preparing and presenting a speech of their own. We examine the three key areas of public speaking; Body Language, Voice and Content. At the end of the session, students will have the chance to present their own pitch/speech to an audience.
