Lamda Tuition

LAMDA is the oldest and most respected awarding organisation for examinations in the dramatic arts world.

Time 2 Act have been teaching LAMDA for over 10 years and in this time our tuition has helped hundreds of students of all ages and abilities to develop invaluable life skills, technical ability, knowledge and self-esteem.

Students are taught individually or in pairs. They can be prepared for a variety of LAMDA examinations including Acting, Musical Theatre, Public Speaking, Verse and Prose, Mime, Reading for Performance and Devised Performance. The examinations are split into five main levels:

  • Introductory Examinations (Minimum Age 5)
  • Level 2 (Intermediate) – Grade 4-5
  • Level 1 (Foundation) – Grades 1-3
  • Entry Level (Minimum Age 7)
  • Level 3 (Advanced) – Grades 6-8 (Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards with UCAS points awarded).

We can also provide tuition for Diplomas

  • The LAMDA Certificate in Speech and Drama (P.CERT.LAM)

Students can also be entered for the LAMDA Communication Award and the LAMDA Performance Award.

  • The LAMDA Diploma in Speech and Drama Education (LSDE)
  • The LAMDA Diploma in Drama Art (LDDA)

We strive to get the best results in LAMDA exams, with over 80% of our students gaining Distinction or Merit.

The graded qualifications offered by LAMDA are accredited by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA), which falls under the National Framework of Qualifications and are to be accepted in the same manner as other qualifications such as GCSEs. Those who pass exams at Grades 6, 7 and 8 are also awarded UCAS points, which contribute to University entry requirements. For further information visit the LAMDA website at www.lamda.org.uk/exams/index.htm

Through the preparation for these exams, students are well equipped for other opportunities in their lives, such as drama scholarships, interviews, auditions, debating competitions, drama festivals, poetry competitions and musical theatre shows.

We encourage students to participate in Drama Festivals, such as the Godalming Music Festival, where pupils can showcase their pieces to an audience, perform on stage and get feedback from an outside adjudicator. We have had many successes in the past with students gaining invaluable experience and winning medals and trophies.
