Our Journey So Far
Time 2 Act was founded in 2012 by professional actors James Merry and Claire Huckle. After years of working professionally on stage and screen alongside teaching young people, they wanted to bring all of their activities together under one company. Concentrating on their key four areas of expertise, Time 2 Act has grown beyond all expectations and is now busier than ever!
Claire Huckle
Claire made her theatrical debut at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre when she was nine years old playing Lillian in The Chimes. She subsequently appeared on film, television and stage after being signed to Sylvia Young’s agency. Claire was then awarded a scholarship to the Guildford School of Acting where she gained a first class BA Hons degree. Claire has extensive television experience, playing Sophia in A Respectable Trade (BBC), Caroline in This is Dom Jolly (BBC) and Liz Riley in Casualty (BBC). One of Claire’s major television roles was playing Ross Kemp’s daughter in Without Motive 1 and 2 (ITV). In theatre, Claire has played the principle role for Evolution, First Family and QDOS pantomimes for over 8 years. Most recently Claire has featured in various commercials including Vodafone and ING Direct. Claire has vast experience in teaching and working with children. She is a LAMDA teacher at Wellington College, UK, a Senior Examiner for RSL Ltd and a judge at the annual Godalming Music Festival in Surrey. She has also worked as a casting director for the teenage BBC drama The Cut.
James Merry
James began performing at a young age with the Carlton Junior Television Workshop in Birmingham. His credits as a child include The Demon Headmaster (ITV), Scratchy & Co (ITV) and Cinderella (Birmingham Hippodrome). He trained on a scholarship at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating in 2005 with a BA Hons in Acting. Since graduating he has worked extensively in theatre and television, his most recent credits including Birds Of A Feather (ITV), Endeavour (ITV), Doctors (BBC) and a string of commercials. He is perhaps best known for his role of Simon Brooklyn-Bell in Cbeebies BAFTA nominated Waffle The Wonder Dog. Alongside his work in theatre and on screen he has taught acting at Stagecoach Schools, The Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) and independently at other schools across the country. He is currently the tutor manager at Cragrats UK and MyKindaFuture, delivering employability and enterprise workshops to students aged 10-21. He has also worked as a role play training actor across the globe in a variety of sectors from retail and hospitality through to medical and military environments.
